10TH JANUARY A GREAT DAY FOR IISH AND OUR WELL WISHERS
This day was celebrated as the nearest Sunday, to Swami Vivekananda’s 153rd birthday, 12th Jan.
In NHC it was celebrated for the first time as the convocation day, during when high quality certificates were distributed in 14 heritage subjects taught for students. The well trained students were given three level course certificates based on their training received from NHC of IISH. In short the IISH celebrated the first convocation day.
These certificates were like course certificates given by any institute for various subjects. The National Heritage Center is developing and has developed to a level to give certificates to all the courses it has been conducting for the last one year. The world will value our certificates as the most authentic based on serious evaluation.
The program, when hold in NHC during the after noon of 12th Jan, it had a festive mood. The group discussions, lectures, group photo taking, speeches of students, small level cultural activities and serious messages for parents and teachers by the director of IISH and NHC. The programs were organised by the teachers and students under the guidance of Dr. Haridasan Pillai, the Director of NHC.
More than 400 number audience were present in this function. This included the parents of the students, teachers, locals, and many dignitaries from local and far away places.
Next year we will be incorporating 15 more heritage subjects to take the total heritage subject to minimum 30. We are planning for external private registration also other than our own students from BVV. The students from anywhere in the world can register the course. The certificates will be given on the convocation day itself, as done this year. But a thorough interview/ demonstration test/ written test / evaluation / viva voce/…. will be held to prove their calibre of the external / private registrants.
We welcome all your suggestions. And would like to express our deepest gratitude to each and everyone who has given us unbelievable levels of financial and moral support. We are sure by 2019 convocation day nearly 50- 60 subjects will be directly or indirectly taught in the National Heritage Centre and certificate will be given away for the students at three levels based on their expertise.
Many heritage materials made of metals, wood, ivory, and so on were displayed in annakshetra which is being visited by a number of people , from near and far. That was in formally inaugurated for display for the public on this day. The display also included the awards and honours and mementos received to IISH for the mission oriented work.
